GENERAL TERMS OF BUSINESS

By written confirmation of an order (cost estimates included), the following General Terms of Business are accepted:

All orders require written agreement (e.g., by e-mail), stating the time of delivery (or mission), its price as well as the client’s name, address and landline phone number.
Payment for translations without certification, interpretation, proofreading, editing ghostwriting, coaching is due 14 calendar days after the date of invoice. Target texts remain my intellectual property until complete payment has been received.

Certified (sworn) translations:
For documents transmitted by fax or e-mail, the client will state that he / she is in possession of the original.
The translation will be delivered and billed by e-mail and can be checked at this point. After proof of payment has been received (e.g., by fax, screenshot or scan of the bank printout), the translated document will be printed, signed and stamped, and sent to the client via conventional mail.

Time spent for cost estimates, if desired, will be billed at a rate of EUR 30 / hour if no order follows, e.g., 30 min. = EUR 15. If an order follows, the cost estimate is free.

Limitation of liability for internal content:

The content of my website has been compiled with meticulous care and to the best of my knowledge. However, I cannot assume any liability for the up-to-dateness, completeness or accuracy of any of the pages.
Pursuant to section 7, para. 1 of the TMG (Telemediengesetz – Tele Media Act by German law), I as service provider am liable for my own content on these pages in accordance with general laws. However, pursuant to sections 8 to 10 of the TMG, I as service provider am not under obligation to monitor external information provided or stored on my website. Once I have become aware of a specific law infringement, I will immediately remove the content in question. Any liability concerning this matter can only be assumed from the point in time at which the infringement becomes known to me.

Limitation of liability for external links:

My website contains links to the websites of third parties (“external links”). As the content of these websites is not under my control, I cannot assume any liability for such external content. In all cases, the provider of information of the linked websites is liable for the content and accuracy of the information provided. At the point in time when the links were placed, no law infringements were recognizable to me. As soon as an infringement becomes known to me, I will immediately remove the link in question.

Copyright:

The content and works published on this website are governed by the copyright laws of Germany. Any duplication, processing, distribution or any form of utilization beyond the scope of copyright law shall require prior written consent of the author or authors in question. Content on this website that was created by external authors is identified in accordance with copyright law. Should you become aware of a breach of copyright law, however, please let me know. In such a case I will immediately delete that content.

Data protection:

If personal data are collected via this website, this only occurs – to the extent possible – upon prior consent of the user of the website. Any forwarding of the data to third parties without the express consent of the user shall not take place.

Details: all work assigned to me is performed by myself; no-one but myself gets access to my computers or files, and thus to your data or content. I store e-mails with personal data of clients until an assignment is finalized, then I delete them. Pursuant to tax law, I store my invoices with the recipients’ data for 10 years; I allow no access to them, unless an authority should have a right to demand it. Translations I have delivered remain in my files to enable follow-up deliveries of additional copies; by contrast, I usually do not store the originals. No-one but myself gets to see these files unless you expressly wish it.

All my computers are protected by the most recent versions of Kaspersky Antivirus or Kaspersky Internet Security, updated several times a day. Please be aware, however, that transmission of data via the Internet (e.g., by e-mail) can offer security vulnerabilities. It is therefore impossible to safeguard the data completely against access by third parties. I cannot assume any liability for damages arising as a result of such security vulnerabilities.

Use by third parties of all published contact details for the purpose of advertising is expressly excluded. I reserve the right to take legal steps in the case of unsolicited communication of advertising information.
